🍊Netanyahu Plans Gaza City Takeover as Hamas Ceasefire Talks Restart.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has announced that he will give final approval for the takeover of Gaza City. This massive military operation in Gaza could begin within days.

Netanyahu said Israel will both push ahead with defeating Hamas and also start negotiations with Hamas for the release of the remaining hostages. According to Israel, around 20 hostages are still alive in Gaza.

But on Thursday, Israeli airstrikes killed at least 36 Palestinians across Gaza, including civilians seeking humanitarian aid. Gaza’s Health Ministry now reports over 62,000 Palestinians killed since the war began, half of them women and children.

Meanwhile, rare protests in Gaza City saw women and children holding signs reading “Save Gaza” and “Stop the war.” Protesters said they don’t want to migrate; they just want the Israel Gaza war to end.

The United Nations chief António Guterres has urged Israel to accept the ceasefire proposal from Egypt and Qatar, warning that a Gaza City invasion will cause massive death, destruction and displacement.

International pressure is rising, but Netanyahu says Israel will only end the war on its own terms — hostages freed and Hamas defeated.
