Poor JJ. Everything’s gone pear-shaped since Effy came between his two best friends and split apart his friendship group. He furiously attempted to map out the problem in an epic flow chart but it maddened him and he trashed his bedroom. A visit to the psychiatric clinic doesn’t help – Dr Kelly just upped his medication. But it does yield a chance meeting with Emily. Fuelled by a shared desire to emotionally assert what they want from their friends, they set off to Freddie’s.

To their surprise and Karen’s glee, JJ and Emily walk in on Freddie and Katie, and out this new relationship. But it’s Katie who gets the biggest shock when JJ lets slip that Emily’s come out, especially when she gave Katie her word that she wasn’t gay. Furious Freddie marches JJ to the shed and gives JJ an ultimatum. He’s not going to make up with Cook, so JJ’ll have to choose.
