Josh Schaefer is currently 28 years old and lives on a small farm with his parents. He was home schooled through high school. He then decided to leave Michigan to search for work in Arizona. When his father was hired out of state, Josh moved back to the Upper Peninsula to help his mother with the farm.

Josh decided to enroll in Bay College; through taking general studies courses he hoped to find his passion in life. He has accomplished that goal and is working to achieve a Masters degree in a field dealing with subatomic particles and alternative energy. His passion is to make a lasting impression that will help those who inhabit Earth, along with Mother Earth.

The Four A's
Active Energy
I would like to promote Active Energy, because I think it's important not just to help the environment but also conserve and protect it for future generations. I would like to encourage campuses to enact their own Alternative Energy Action Plans and cultivate interest in green energy initiatives.

Active Membership
Phi Theta Kappa is a life changing experience. I used to be very shy and timid around people, but after joining this group and becoming active, it taught me much about myself, others, and gave me a reason to come out of my shell. I want everyone to have the opportunity to grow into the best person he or she can become. By promoting and implementing more events and bringing Chapter's members closer together, active involvement will begin to increase.

Active Lifestyle
Being on the go all the time, fast food and vending machine food is becoming a common everyday lifestyle choice for most individuals, especially college students. Because of this fast paced lifestyle, many individual's live unhealthy lifestyles. Promoting nutrition and alternatives for exercise will begin to teach individuals the value and importance of living an active lifestyle.

Active Learning
Everyone is unique and different, but with studying, most students feel that there is a proper way to study. There is not. By promoting different ways of studying, students will hopefully find the way to study that helps them learn the material best to their unique style. To achieve these better study results, events such as NAP (Nights Against Procrastination) and exam jams can be used to study and discuss different study techniques.
