My TV viewing fascination began at the tender age of five with that groundbreaking science fiction and time travel series, Dr Who in Nineteen Sixty-Three. A consequence of which, was me hiding behind the sofa when the daleks appeared, and the occasional ban from the living room by my mother.

The next series to grab my attention, 3 years later was of course, a pioneering drama, The Three Musketeers. At the time of course, I had no idea of the book written by Alexandre Dumas back in 1844.

Set in Paris in the 1620's, the Three Musketeers, D'Artagnan, Porthos, and Aramis, struggle to protect the throne of France from the machinations of the evil Prime Minister Richelieu.

The actors had no stunt doubles. They had to perform all their own action sequences and often the lighting was poor quality due to the locations being primarily outdoors, and the cameras were not really up to the task of the day.

The series survived destruction when the BBC cleared out old archives and was released on DVD in 2006.
In 2024 I bought the rights.
I Wish I could get my hands on Doctor Who.
