The new biography from Judith Hiltner and James Walker shows us the cultural transformation Barber undertook, particularly surrounding the debut of Jackie Robinson and, later, the coming out of his daughter. Red Barber (the book) delves deeply into the history of Red Barber (the broadcaster), uncovering vital facets of a seminal man in baseball history.
