Jeep Wrangler Rugged Ridge XHD Sierra Reclining Front Seat (1997-2006 TJ) Review & Install

Improved Comfort. Whether your TJ's seats are worn out, broken, or you just want a more custom look for the interior, this Rugged Ridge XHD Sierra Reclining Front Seat is a good option for you to consider. This seat does fully recline, which is great for when you're stopped and need to relax or maybe even sleep. Also, you can retain the fold and tumble feature from the factory for either the driver's or passenger's seat, which is a big plus. Just as important, this seat works with the factory seat adapter, so you don’t need to buy an aftermarket adapter. The headrest is integrated, instead of adjustable. A shoulder harness cutout is included, too. You can put this front seat in any 1997 to 2006 Jeep Wrangler TJ.

Excellent Construction. The tubular steel frame for this seat is strong and durable, as are the metal springs in the bottom cushion. Additional bolstering on the bottom and back cushions do a good job of holding you in place, even on bumpy trails. As for the upholstery, it's an automotive grade vinyl, which should hold up great for some time. You can get the vinyl in a wide range of colors, giving the customized look you want. Another bonus of the vinyl is that it cleans off easily, which is great if you get mud or dirt on the seats.

Simple to Put In. This is an easy job that should take you about an hour. Depending on the year of your TJ, you'll have to drill into a welded nut, and that's it for drilling. You might also need to trim some plastic pieces with a utility knife. Otherwise, you need a set of sockets.
