680 Trail | Descent from the top of Loma Alta in Marin County!

My backyard trail! I only wish the climb didn't suck so much, my legs are building the case for an e-bike right now.

Trivia: The land bordering the single-track portion of this trail is owned by James Hetfield of Metallica, and the fire road connecting San Rafael to the summit of Loma Alta used to go through his property. After some fans allegedly trespassed on his property Hetfield shut down access to his section of the fire road, cutting down access to Loma Alta for hikers and bikers. In reaction to this, Marin County decided to build a single-track bypass trail that would stay on public land and link both ends of the fire road. So thank you James for more single-track!
