H.E. Eng. Abdullah bin Ibrahim Al-Abdulkarim, the President of the Saudi Water Authority opened IDWS with a message that set the tone for global action.

He reminded the world that even with more than 960 million people gaining water access in the past decade, more than two billion are still without it. Seven hundred million people remain vulnerable to displacement. And sixty percent of the global economy is tied to water availability, while investment in climate and environmental innovation sits below one percent.

His Excellency called for bold collaboration and new models that match the scale of the challenge.

This moment defines why IDWS exists. It is the time to shape 21st Century solutions for a world that cannot wait.
