Part of the Spring 2025 CCIDM Virtual Workshop Series, this hands-on session focuses on planning and launching a professional portfolio website with Quarto—no prior coding required. You’ll learn how to organize résumé/CV content, projects, and publications into a cohesive site, apply custom styling with SCSS and themes, and publish your work using GitHub Pages for a credible, public-facing presence.
By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to assemble a complete Quarto site from existing materials, integrate analyses/reports/dashboards created in Quarto, tailor layout and appearance with SCSS and custom themes, deploy the site via GitHub Pages, and generate an R résumé using the vitae package—capabilities that help students and job seekers present a polished personal brand quickly.




Learning Outcomes:
1. Build a professional Quarto website to showcase your portfolio, skills, and personal brand online.
2. Integrate existing Quarto projects into your website for cohesive presentation of analyses, reports, interactive visualizations, and dashboards.
3. Customize your website layout and appearance with SCSS and custom themes to enhance visual appeal
4. Deploy your website online using GitHub Pages for easy accessibility and professional visibility.
5. Create a resume in R using the Vitae package
