Clothing as empowerment: A collection inspired by heritage, psychology, and self-expression. Paris, 27 September 2024 With a fresh perspective, the House of Jitrois presents their SS25 collection,
“I Heard a Rumour”.

For this season, Jean-Claude Jitrois and his team found a renewed direction from the unboxing of his archives, the hidden wonders found in his vault and the secrets yet to be told all whilst delving deeper into the transformative power of clothing as a form of role-play—an idea central to Jean-Claude Jitrois’ creative vision. With roots in his early career as a psychologist and psychomotrician, Jean-Claude Jitrois has long been fascinated by how clothes can influence identity, reinforce a sense of self and empower self-perception. His recently released memoir, My Skin Remembers, shaped the direction of this season’s collection.
Fabrics play a pivotal role in this concept, with Jitrois’ world-renowned stretch leather offering a second-skin fit that not only enhances the body but also invites the wearer to step into different roles.
New introductions like coloured stretch patent leather and printed leather illusion mesh and jersey provide a tactile element of fantasy, while silk satin, organza, and bold leather embroideries create an interplay of textures that heighten the drama and allure of each piece. Shapes are designed to offer modernity and versatility, ranging from sleek, form-fitting silhouettes to more relaxed voluminous pieces.

Structured jackets, corset-style tops, and fitted dresses give a sense of control and poise while billowing skirts and leg-sculpting trousers offer sensuality and ease. Each design invites the wearer to inhabit different facets of themselves, whether strong and assertive or soft and ethereal. Jitrois’ SS25 colour palette further enhances Jean-Clade Jitrois’ narrative, offering a spectrum of emotions through jade green, spring rose, ébène, midnight blue, mineral green, blood red, acid yellow, metal silver, and the brand’s iconic black leather. These colours, paired with metallic and high-shine finishes, create a vibrant and transformative aesthetic that flirts with bold seduction blurring the boundaries between fantasy, reality and beyond.
