With the success of the Disney animated film ‘Frozen’, many were intrigued with Princess Elsa so much so that many have named their kids or pets Elsa. We were fortunate enough to rescue a Great Dane named Elsa a few months ago who happened to have beautiful blue eyes. I found out about the movie during our walk with the dog. The kids would ask, “What’s your dog’s name?” Once they found out her name was Elsa there was an instant connection between them.
This story also brings forth the topic of animal welfare and how we can be more conscious with our actions towards animals. Over the course of three months, I randomly filmed Elsa in various walks within our city in Hamilton, Ontario. I implemented key elements for the story. I also took advantage of a recent trip to the Arctic and shot a few scenes to incorporate into the story. Of course there are many talented people who have contributed in the making of this short film which without them it would not be possible. And for that I would like to thank every individual who took the time to help with the making of this film.
