GT3 4.0 - Manual or PDK?

Описание к видео GT3 4.0 - Manual or PDK?

Hey Guys, the question I have been asking myself, given I do not use my GT3 in town during the day, is should I have bought a manual where the gratification to be gained from matching the gear-change revs to a decently executed double de-clutch is one of the most enjoyable elements when driving a car.

Unquestionably GT3 in PDK form is the complete package but if not used everyday or regularly on the track may not be as satisfying as the ability to change gear oneself. Today we have the chance to answer this. The PDK Box is quicker in almost every circumstance you care to name but it will be marginal, except perhaps on a track, and there is genuine pleasure to be had from slotting in those gears.

At the heart of the GT3 is the engine and this is quite simply spectacular. A naturally aspirated flat six now displacing 4-litres for the first time. Will be the last naturally aspirated unit produced if the Cup Car now goes Turbo and has the ability to rev out to a full and outrageous 9,000rpm where the sounds at this level are unbelievable! Maximum power has climbed from 468bhp to 493bhp, (500hp), and 339lb-ft of torque, all achieved by using the 4.0-litre engine from the 911 GT3 Cup car to replace the previous 3.8-litre unit. Porsche reports It's 'virtually unchanged' between road and race variants bar the exhaust system and this engine also forms the basis for the Gen 2 GT3RS.

That's 0-62mph in 3.9sec for the manual and 0-62mph in 3.4sec for PDK. The manual, however is geared to achieve 200mph flat out, while the PDK is rated to 'ONLY' 199mph. No I don't understand why either!
