Looking at a couple of really slick pens with gel refills (inserts), I was impressed and satisfied. These do cost a lot of money, but these feel like industrial or medical-grade tools, and I that the only part that is easily breakable is also easily replaceable, which should make the pens last forever.

The ATELEIA pen, which I do all the drawing with today, is so slick and minimalist, it's almost completely featureless when the cap is on.

The CW&T Pen Type-A resides in an architect's scale ruler, and slides out with an immensely satisfying pop that I just can't get enough of.
