5. Author Susanna Jones
British author Susanna Jones hit the jackpot with her debut novel “The Earthquake Bird” published in 2001. Set in Tokyo, Japan in the late 1980s, the mystery novel is about a young female English expat Lucy who figures in a tumultuous love triangle with a Japanese photographer Teji and her female friend Lily.
