I have the Pixel 9 Pro XL here from Google, and in today's video I want to show you three different ways you can debloat your device so that you don't have a bunch of pre-installed apps laying around that you don't use.

Simply Uninstall Them
A popular app that I see mentioned in threads like this is for Google Wallet.
Not everyone likes to pay for things using their smartphone. . .so for many of us. . .we don't need this app at all on our smartphone.

But thankfully we can just uninstall it from Pixel phones.
Do this by long-pressing on the app icon itself
And then using the Uninstall button from here.

Any app that you don't use, that offers this Uninstall button, can be safely removed.



Disable the Pesky Ones
On the other hand, there are going to be some apps, like the Recorder, which will not offer an Uninstall button for you to use.
Instead, you'll notice there is a Disable button there.

So in these instances, you should disable apps in your App Drawer that you also have zero interest in using.
Any app that you see in the App Drawer, that cannot be uninstalled normally, is going to be safe to Disable in this way.

Just be aware that, disabling the Google Play Store will mean you cannot install apps from there.
And disabling the Google app could prevent some other features, like the search widget for example, from working properly.

But disabling apps in this way shouldn't cause any bootloops.
As long as you're just messing with apps that you can see icons for in the App Drawer.



Uninstall with Canta or ADB
Another method you can use to uninstall bloatware on your Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold is with ADB or a Shizuku app called Canta.
Neither of these require root access, but the setup process may seem daunting the first time you start looking into it.

You can get the Shizuku service up and running with Wireless USB Debugging pretty easily.
And then Canta will leverage Shizuku to remove those bloatware apps using the same ADB commands. . .Canta just handles things with a graphical user interface.

Once Shizuku is running, you can find the apps you don't like within Canta, and remove them this way.
It even comes with a filter list that you can use. . .

Most people will want to use the Recommended list of apps.
But you still need to go through these one at a time because we all have different definitions of what is considered bloatware and what is useful.

For example, you can see we would be removing the Calendar and the Calculator if we just defaulted to the Recommended list.
But I personally don't have an issue with those two apps. . .and I actually use them quite a lot.

So definitely make sure you're going through this list and only removing apps and services that you're aware of. . .and that you do not want to see on your Pixel 9 Pro.



Safe List of Apps to Remove
For anyone doing things manually, I wanted to offer a list of apps and services that you are safe to remove.
Just remember, that similarly to the Recommended list that I mentioned in the previous section, there are going to be apps in there that you probably use on a daily basis.

So don't go in blind or you could find yourself without a default keyboard to use. . .or without a way to access your saved reminders.

After a bit of research, I was able to collect this list of application package names that should be safe to remove on your Google Pixel 9 series smartphone.

You can either use this list to manually remove them with ADB. . .or you can use the Canta app like I showed you in this video.
