This is a Motormouth couple car review of the all-new 2023 Toyota Prius Prime plug-in hybrid car. The Prius Prime now in its 10th year of production has an all-new sporty exterior design with flowing lines, a wider stance and a lower roofline by almost 2 inches. It also has a lower driving position compared to the outgoing model. The front end of the Toyota Prius Prime features scooped out headlights with a C-shaped LED accent light. Moving to the rear, it is almost an inch wider, giving it a more dynamic look and the clear LED taillight strip looks modern and clean. The Prime comes standard with 17” wheels, available 19”, a tire repair kit and there is no rear wiper.
Gone is the 1.8L 4-cylinder, the Toyota Prius Prime now has a 2L 4-cylinder with a combined 220 horsepower. This is a FWD model. With a larger lithium-ion battery, Toyota says, the EV range has increased by over 50% from the previous model of 40 km/25 miles.
