Did you know that there aren’t any podcasts or interview formats that exist showcasing and celebrating black hair?
Last week at FRICT we changed that by turning a hair appointment into a conversation.

It started as a braiding session and became an honest dialogue about black hair as culture, community, craft, livelihood, and most importantly, therapy. Having the kind of conversations that naturally happen in the chair but never get documented.

Through FRICT.Waves we hope to share these stories uplifting and celebrating black hair as tradition and heritage, not just something we manage or a side-activity and maintenance of the status quo. Instead this space is dedicated to embracing and celebrating a sacred process we take for granted, while providing the infrastructure for serious hair artists that deserve visibility.

This project is about trust, belonging, and a homecoming of self.
