Описание к видео [REVIEW #80] The Forsaken by milad1g and more (Demon) | Geometry Dash 2.2

The Forsaken is a design megacollab that's kind of all over the place with what it's doing as it features pretty much all the bells and whistles of 2.1 glow design levels with flashy pulses, full screen effects, and animations which serve as transitions. Whilst in concept these are all interesting ideas, execution matters so much with this kind of thing and that's where I believe this level falls flat.

The very first part of the level is a good example of this, the gradient beams don't really seem to serve any purpose besides looking cool, but don't really come in at a defined part of the song or be used long enough for it to not feel random. The same can be said for the glow beams during the part at 0:30 as it feels they simply exist to fill in space rather than compliment the song in any meaningful way.

I think the use of big rotating objects and sweeping movements to implement the cymbals into the level at 1:04 and 1:15 is an interesting choice and executed decently and demonstrates why song implementation matters so much for "hype moments" to actually have some weight in the level without feeling entirely forced.

Despite this level being comically overcooked with simpler things like movements being overlooked, there is still some potential here with some of the main effects being executed decently. It's a hard sell for a rate but it wouldn't entirely surprise me to see it happen.
