STORYLINE:
Thousands of people lined the Mall, Sunday, to watch a pageant on the final day of festivities marking Queen Elizabeth II's 70 years on the throne.
Military bands were followed by puppets and dancers and colourful open-top double decker buses depicting the different decades of the Queen's reign.
The 260-year-old Gold State Coach which carried the Queen to her coronation in 1953 rode through the streets, with the Queen appearing as a hologram inside.
"I absolutely loved it. I think it was one of the most spectacular shows on the planet," said Maria Bonet, one of the spectators in central London on Sunday.
"It was terrific. Yeah, we were completely bowled over. We came over all patriotic and excited in a way that we didn't think we were going to," said Veronica Timperley, another person who had come out to enjoy the festivities.
Millions of people across the country marked the occasion with patriotic street parties and barbeques, lining streets with long tables, balloons and picnic fare.
