But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify.

Good morning! Here is today’s word of blessings for you.
Romans 3: 19-26

19 Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God. 20 Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God’s sight by the works of the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin. 21 But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. 22 This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. 25 God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood—to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished— 26 he did it to demonstrate his righteousness at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.

Today’s title is “The New Righteousness For All”

Have you ever been in a place where you are completely confined by hostile forces? What was your life like then and there? I personally heard some terrible stories of the people who were forcefully driven into notorious labor camps in communist countries. They said that they went through a life that was literally worse than death. They routinely go through hard labor, hunger, and persecution without any hope of freedom. It must be like the hell that Dante in his “Divine Comedy”. There at the entrance of hell, It was written, “Abandon all hope ye who enter here”. That sounds so terrible. But the bible says that we could be in the same situation without really going into such places if we are under the wrath of God. Psalm 32 described it in this way. “When I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long. For day and night, your hand was heavy on me; my strength was sapped as in the heat of summer (Psalm 32:3-4). In fact, this was how all of us were before Christ came into our life. Today’s passage says the same situation in terms of law and grace. “Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God. Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God’s sight by the works of the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin.”. We were all under the law and the whole world held accountable to God. But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe.” When Jesus came into our life, we have received the righteousness of God through faith in Him. With the new righteousness of God given through Jesus, we were declared “righteous” and “free” before God. What Paul emphasizes in this passage is that the new righteousness does not discriminate people based on races and anything like it, “ There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Whoever has faith in Jesus will have new righteousness and freedom and grace as a result of it. Do you have the new righteousness? Do you enjoy the freedom and grace of God with it? That’s the very power of the gospel.
