It’s Johanna Basford’s 30 Days of Creativity – And today we’re coloring the “Progress Not Perfection” page.

Ironically, I destroyed this page before I even started coloring!

I used washi tape, with the intention of masking of my letters, but then changed my mind. Ufnortunately the washi tape wasn’t gentle on this particular paper, and ripped up a lot of the artwork. Can you spot it?

So quick tip – don’t use washi tape in this book without testing it first!

But it served as the perfect opportunity to make today about being “imperfect” and try something I wouldn’t normally do. I scribbled, I didn’t blend my colors, and I colored outside the lines. And I really enjoyed it!

When you aim for perfect, you’ll never be satisfied. Letting go of perfection is a huge key to learning to be more creative and taking risks to try new things. So that’s my challenge to you today as well.

Ranger Inks ‪@timholtz‬ Distress Oxides: Picked raspberry, broken china, spiced marmalade, seedless preserves, chipped sapphire, candied apple & festive berries.

White paint pen
