The team focuses on addressing customer needs and challenges across both of these spaces. The intersection of finance and spend is becoming increasingly interesting, and the move in technology is creating bridges across finance and procurement.

To address customer challenges in procurement, SAP is focused on two key areas:

Innovating in their own solutions, with new and next-generation solutions coming very soon.

Harnessing extensibility and the ecosystem.

SAP is moving towards a much more open platform. This open platform allows customers to leverage the innovation SAP has in areas like AI and sustainability.

Data is the backbone of it all. You can build many applications for sustainability, but the data is what's going to drive it. This is critical for legislative compliance, such as with carbon emissions and regulations like CSS, triple D, UDR, CSR, and the omnibus proposal. Organizations need to be ready for this journey over the next three years, but they can only be ready if they have the visibility through the data.

This includes the ability to engage with the largest supplier base across the world to understand the impact on emissions both internally and externally. This is a very data-driven process, and without that visibility, it becomes very hard.
