Hi my friends. Another Zen moment for you. This time at beautiful Scarborough Beach. On the northern tip of the Redcliffe Peninsular in Queensland, Australia. Very pretty spot here, it's a nice long sandy, calm water beach, with nice shady parkland, green grass and big tall shade trees, seating, barbecue areas and sheltered little pavilions in case it rains. A basket ball court, a skate board area, a king size chess board, with chess pieces half the size of a person, as well as a very first rate play area for the kids.
Behind the beach and parkland is a road with a very slow speed limit. Designed in a way that cars have no other choice but to drive very slow. It's a difficult little road to drive actually, but a wise design because it just keeps everything safe for the people enjoying the beach and surrounding area. Many years ago, before this new "slow road" design, some people used to drive this road too fast. On the other side of this small road is a long strip of first rate restaurants and cafes, a small supermarket, a laundry-mat, post office, wine bars and more. As well as beautiful apartment blocks and accommodation choices for visitors ranging from very nice, to luxury.
I have so much history in this area. So much has changed here over the last 50 years but I think everybody knew this strip would become what it has.
The parkland was a very large caravan park for many years. I remember getting my first kiss in that caravan park haha.. RICH memories my friends. I was only 10 years old and was very attracted to a girl who was travelling around Australia. No sooner had we become boyfriend and girlfriend she told me she and her family were "moving on" heading off to the next caravan park, and she asked me to come and see her the day before she left. To my surprise she planted this great big kiss on my lips. That's what she wanted to do, she wanted to see me in the park and kiss me goodbye. I remember blushing a little but sooo nice. And I rode my push bike home feeling a lot of joy, and extra energy to push those peddles haha.. But also deep sadness that I lost her.. I hoped to see her again one day, but that was it, never saw or heard of her again. I'm pretty sure her name was Leanne Godwin. I never forget moments like that haha.. Hiii Leanne if you're out there, thanks so much for such a wonderful moment in history.
As a few more years passed and when I was around 12 to 15 all of the kids would go to a movie theatre on that strip. It was a big theatre and always packed with kids. I remember taking girlfriends there, and well, we all did and there was lot's of hugging and kissing going on in that place haha. I remember seeing all of the Bruce Lee movies at that theatre when they first came out, "The Rocky Horror Picture Show", "Jaws" and even the terrifying horror movie "The Exorcist", oh my I wish I never saw that movie hahaha.. it was only for adult viewing but me and two mates managed to slip in.. Sooo scary.. yeap I really was too young to see that move.. it scared the pants off me.. hahaha :-D
As I reached adulthood it was the famous Scarborough Hotel on that strip that held everybody's interest. It's gone now. Demolished and replaced with a huge block of apartments. Never imagined that place would go. A lot of good times had there, but it had a "rough" reputation at times in its history too. With rough and tumble hard working fishermen, builder's, bricklayers etc. I remember one time I "caught" a man's head. Just like catching a football... he was punched very hard and as he sailed though the air I saved his life... I "caught" his head just before it smashed into the corner of a concrete street kerb. A memorable moment. I'm grateful to have the chance to save him. Even though he was a bully and started the fight in the first place.
Anyway thats all past history. Its a very peaceful safe spot for everyone now.

I have advanced COPD, (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease), a serious terminal lung problem. They say there's no cure and been told I'm probably not going to live too much longer, but hope to prove 'em wrong. Here's some COPD info https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chronic... If you'd like to donate to help me keep making videos before I croak, and also move to a place with cleaner air, here's the link, and thanks from the bottom of my heart. Cheers!
