Bonjour guys! You are welcome back to my channel. This is Learn French With Queen, your trusted space where we learn to read, write and speak french. In today's video, I will be helping you learn the French nasal vowels.
In my previous videos, we have learnt about the french alphabets, and have divided the french alphabets into consonants and vowels. Remember we said there are 3 major categories of vowels in french.
They include:
Oral vowels (Les voyelles Orale)
Nasal vowels (Les voyelles Nasale)
Semi vowels (Les semi voyelles)
Today we will be looking at the french nasal vowels, the nasal vowel sounds, and how they are used in the french language. There are four (4) major nasal vowels in the french language.
The four (4) major french nasal vowels can be seen and used in the following ways :
en, em, an, am
in, im, ain, aim, ein, eim, en
on, om
un, um
Examples of words that the french nasal vowels are found in the french language are as follows:
en, em, an, am : cent, temps, sans, champ
in, im, ain, aim, ein, eim, en : mince, impair, train, plein
on, om : ton, son, nom
un, um : Lundi, un, parfum
Paying attention to the sounds will help in identifying the french nasal vowels and your pronunciation while speaking the french language.
