Racist bots and hate raids have been targeting Twitch streamers for over a week now, but when they went after TheBlackHokage, he was more than ready for it.

A new wave of racist chat bots and hate raids have been unleashed on black Twitch streamers in the last week. These hate raids involve chat bots or actual people suddenly swarming a Twitch channel, and spamming it with hateful, racist messages and slurs. But when a hate raid hit TheBlackHokage’s channel, he was actually excited to shut them down.

Saying “Lets go yo! I’ve been waiting for this shit! Finally!” Hokage showed every Twitch streamer exactly how to shut down the flood of racist messages spamming his Twitch chat: He just turned on Subscriber-Only mode. It instantly banished all the racist chat bots, and would have forced the people behind the hate raid to buy subs to his channel if they wanted to continue, which of course they didn’t.

But the problem of Hate Raids on Twitch is a serious one, and Hokage and other streamers have demanded action from the streaming platform. And Hokage may have explained it best when he said “Y’all need to do better in protecting your creators if you’re truly trying to be inclusive. This type of stuff deflates people & runs them to your competitors”
