Boat Folk WESTWARD

The Tasmanian designed and built wooden yacht, Westward, is the only Tasmanian yacht to have won the Sydney to Hobart yacht race, twice, in 1948 and 1949. Originally designed by Jock Muir as a fishing cruiser for a Sydney buyer soon after World War II. A traditional Tasmanian wooden boat now maintained by the Maritime Museum of Tasmania and its volunteers. See her today, at Constitution Dock in Hobart's Sullivan's Cove.
