The Kronos addresses processes such as plate burning and the drilling holes in steel plate for typical detail parts. To maximize the efficiency of the spindle and plasma torch functions FICEP has developed “Jumping” cycles. This unique function anticipates the start and stop position of the drill spindle and plasma torch when positioning in the “X” and “Y” axes. The software determines the drilling and cutting cycles in advance so the tools start retracting or advancing from the material as the “X” and “Y” axes are positioning.

Steel fabrication thermal processes such as plate burning with plasma and oxy-fuel is what makes the FICEP Kronos so versatile. The Kronos also delivers plasma bevel cutting for diverse weld prep applications. To enhance the productivity of steel plate fabrication the plate burning system is typically configured with multiple oxy-fuel torches with automated spacing.

The Kronos can also be equipped with multiple plasma torches from Hypertherm.

Drilling capability can be added to the Kronos as an option with ISO 30 of 40 tool holders and automatic tool changer.

The FICEP Gemini can be installed to use the same rails and cutting table as the Kronos. This further maximizes the versatility and productivity of the steel plate detail fabrication processes in essentially the same footprint.

The cutting table can be furnished as a dry down draft system, which removes the particulate that results from the plasma operation. As an alternative the Kronos can also be provided with a water table, which traps the plasma waste in the water.

The Kronos is available in different bed lengths to accommodate longer plates or the table can be sub divided. While one end of the table is processing a stock plate the operator can be removing finished parts from the other end of the table.
