Ashkelon was one of the five great Philistine cities, a coastal fortress at the edge of Canaan, where legends say giants once walked and blood soaked the sand. In lore, it was where Samson struck down thirty men, and prophets warned of fire and ruin. Older still are the Canaanite myths—of Dagon’s temple rising over the sea. Ashkelon was not just a city, but a place between worlds where men, monsters, and forgotten gods once met.
