Jorge Raka: Miedus Domesticus (Domestic Fear), 2024 / Swiss Art Awards 2024. Basel (Switzerland), June 10, 2024. Official description (translated from French): The installation questions values of cleanliness and our relationship with our environment, opening up questions about nature and culture (if nature is a kind of civil war, a constant anthropophagy). The Latin title parodies the classifications used by biologists and entomologists in the 16th and 17th centuries.
The two characters, with an attitude of escape from something that repels them. (Subjectivity that doesn't recognize otherness?). The rose is inspired in the agricultural fields of the Valais, and it's the roses that first give the message that an invasion of pests is damaging crops.

L'installation interroge les valeurs de propreté et le rapport à notre environnement, ouvrant des questions sur nature et culture (si la nature est une sorte de guerre civile, une anthropophagie constante). Le titre latin parodie les classifications nommées par les biologistes et les entomologistes des XVIle et XVIlle siècles.
Les deux personnages, avec une attitude d'évasion de quelque chose qui leur fait répulsion. (Subjectivité qui ne reconnaît pas une altérité?). La rose s'inspire dans les champs agricoles du Valais, ce sont les roses qui donnent le premier message qu'une invasion de ravageurs endommage les cultures.
