Uncharitable remarks on the towering 'Adi Shankara' must STOP. Political people must say away - DS

"Political class (in India) which is incompatible with knowledge should refrain from making uncharitable remarks on towering personalities like Adi Shankara, for their petty & momentary political gain"

Premise: Recently, a political leader from Kerala declared that Adi Shankara (the 8th century CE. philosopher from Kerala) doesn't represent the spirit of Kerala. He added that Shankara propagated the 'cruel' 'caste system'. He concluded that Narayana Guru (the 20th century CE. philosopher from Kerala) alone represents Kerala

Truth: Sri Narayana Guru in his composition 'Anukampa Dashakam' (in Malayalam) venerates Adi Shankara for his contributions to the Advaita philosophy. Many of his other works bring the essence of Gita and the upanishads to the masses. Above all, Narayana Guru advocated 'Vegetarianism' and 'Theism'. Both these virtues are unfound in the political party that the accuser adheres to.
