Are you tired of getting the annoying media controller pop up whenever you use your keyboard shortcuts to pause, play or change the volume on Windows, then watch this video to learn how to disable it.

It's a new method that would definitely work. As many of you have mentioned in the comment, Google Chrome has recently updated and now "hardware-media-key-handling" flag is not available anymore. Thanks for mentioning this issue in the comments, I've uploaded a new method.

Step are as follows
Open Google Chrome, click on the address bar and paste chrome://flags/#hardware-media-key-handling
For Opera Browser use - opera://flags/#hardware-media-key-handling
For Edge Browser use - edge://flags/#hardware-media-key-handling
All you got to do is to change the name of the Browser at the beginning of the code to the browser that you're using. For example, change chrome://flags... to edge://flags...

Then change the option for 'Hardware Media Key Handling' from default to disable. Finally, click on Relaunch to reset Google Chrome.
Now, whenever you use the shortcut keys on your keyboard to pause/play, this media controller will not appear. However, when you use the volume keys, the volume notification will pop up.

Note - This media controller pop up is activated by individual programs. In this example, you learn how to disable it on Google Chrome. For other programs/apps, you'll need to follow a different procedure (if available) suitable for the given program. Unfortunately, there is no general setting in Windows to disable this media controller pop for all the programs/apps.

You can find the "notification time" (Show notifications for) setting by selecting Start - East of Access - Display - scroll down and select "Show notifications for". The default is already set to the lowest duration, ie 5 seconds.

In the above example, I used Google Chrome. You can find the code for the other browsers (Edge, Opera) in the description. All you got to do is to change the name of the Browser at the beginning of the code to the browser that you're using. For example, change chrome://flags... to edge://flags...
