The movie starts with a scene In 2002, in Los angeles, a young adonis "Donnie Creed" sneaks out with his best friend, golden Gloves champion Damian, "Diamond Dame" Anderson, to watch him compete in an underground boxing match. They both reach the arena. The match starts. Donnie has the ability that he can estimate the opponent Dame is going to fight with increasing Dame's win chances. He constantly keeps guiding him about the next move of his opponent to keep him ahead. After Dame's vistory, they both leave from there. On the way, Dame tells Donnie about his aspirations that he want to turn professional and become a world champion. They both enjoy Dame's victory and decide to celeberate with a drink. Donnie goes to bring the drinks at a liqour store. While walking, Donnie runs into into a man named leon. It makes Donnie a little annoyed and he impulsively attacks Leon. Just then Leon's men come there and catch Donnie. Seeing this Dame pulls out the gun. Police arrives in the meantime and Dame is arrested while donnie escapes. May be Donnie does it because of his young mind which couldn't give a better idea than to run from there.

He confronts bianca who is worried about his situation and talks to him about what's going wrong with him. he is unable to open up to Bianca about his guilt over dame, who revels into his newfound fame and publicly slanders Donnie as a fraud who turned his back on him. Donnie gets flash backs of the time when he ran leaving dame alone. He gets a call from his mother's number but bianca on the other side. She tells him that Mary-Anne has suffered another stroke and is in a critical condition. He rushes to her house immediately. But mary-anne passes away. After her funeral, Donnie confesses to Bianca about the night of Dame's arrest, revealing Leon to be the abusive caregiver in their group home before he was adopted. After Donnie attacked Leon at the liqour store, the ensuing brawl with Leon's friends caused Dame to pull a gun. After Dame was arrested, Donnie never contacted Dame out of guilt. Bianca encourages Donnie and he decides to come out of retirement and appears on the national television. There he gets a call from dame who abuses himand calls him coward. Donnie warns him not to do like this and challenges for the championship, which he accepts. Donnie starts training with Duke and a recovered Drago, but constantly gets flashbacks of the past that how dame was trying to save him from leon's man but donnie runs from there without caring about dame. Donnie still feels himself indebted by dame and has a guilt which do not let him focus on the training and he collapses many times despite his best efforts but he does not lose heart and stays persistant. After a lot of training, he becomes ready for the battle. The day of battle arrives and Donnie faces Dame in the "Battle of Los Angeles" at Dodger stadium. In a grueling, evenly matched affair, Donnie has visions of his abusive foster home and Dame's life in jail, leading to a knockdown in the final round. Duke makes donnie realize that he has to come out of his guilt in order to defeat dame. The fight resumes and both fight brutally. Dame attacks donnie but he soon recovers from that. As Donnie has the ability of foresight in annalyzing opponents he immediately gets dame's next move.Donnie knocks out Dame to win the match and regain the championship. Afterward, Donnie reconciles with Dame, with both men admittng it was not the other's fault. Both forgive each other and befriend once again. Donnie joins Bianca and Amara in the ring in an empty stadium, where he pretends to box with amara. Are they signs for the next part of creed?
