GoPro Jaws Clamp vs Imitation Jaws clamp

Описание к видео GoPro Jaws Clamp vs Imitation Jaws clamp

The imitation clamp is made by SameTop and cost around $16 U.S. on Amazon. The GoPro retails for $49, but can be easily had for $31 on Amazon. Both have the same clamping power and virtually identical look and feel at first glance. Its when you start using both at the same time do you notice the difference. I see a lot of reviewers claiming these are EXACTLY the same and work the same, or have the same clamping power, which they both do, but take a look at the difference when actually clamping them both down on the same material. There is almost no comparison. The GP has real rubber at the jaws section of the clamp which allows it to hold on better without sliding, as can be seen in this video. The imitation clamps are almost always made of tough plastic at the clamp part of the jaw which makes it prone to sliding and losing grip. I purchased the clamp to grab onto a window of a train to Machu Picchu, Peru. The imitation clamp may not be able to hold on as steadily as the GP clamp and for that reason, I will be returning it. I think the extra 50% price tag is worth it in this case, but may not be worth it in other cases. I think if the imitation clamp had rubberized jaws, it would be a no brainer to purchase the imitation since both are so close. I'm not sure why the Chinese will not rubberize the jaws of their clamps.
