I just realized that this is actually the Colossus V (5), not III (3). There is a slight difference in the design, so if I say "three" in the video, it's suppose to be 5.

Hey everyone! Here's another review. I'm trying to do reviews on the yoyos that I have purchased this year (there's a lot...btw). So please feel free to put in requests in the comment section and if it's within my budget I think I should be able to review it. Either that or point me in the direction to preview some prototypes?



Anyways, so here is the TopYo Colossus V / Colossus 5. It's a pretty old yoyo, but I found a pretty good deal on it so I thought why not. Right out of the box, it feels a little smaller than other yoyos. Not by much but it definitely noticeable. Really love the finish on the profile. The blasted finish has a texture kind of like velvet fabric. Great on those body grinds.


It's really hard to say anything other than good things for this yoyo. I think my style is slightly changing so I hope I can describe how these yoyos feel.


It has a good amount of rim weight but more on the central axis giving it the bounciness. It's definitely really nimble and easy to control when hitting tricks and you can feel the reaction from the string. That's the best way I can describe the Colossus 5...

With the size and shape, the weight is just right. I also like the color and design. The purple and TopYo's logo resembles the anime Evangelion (Neon Genesis), Eva Unit 01 and their NERV logo. I thought it was a cool tie in.


The Colossus 5 feels like 48R/52C. There's definitely more feeling towards the central axis/axle making you really feel how the yoyo bounces off the string and with the weight it definitely can open up one's speed style. Keep in mind that it's diameter is slightly smaller than the average yoyo.


Be on the look out in the coming weeks for TopYo's Colossus 4. I know there's a version 6 now but I'm still trying to catch up on all these throws.
