Günzburg. A walk around a historical Bavarian town.

Описание к видео Günzburg. A walk around a historical Bavarian town.

The town of Günzberg in Bavaria has been blackened by being the home town of the probably the world's most famous war criminal and the family company which kept him on the run for nearly thirty years. The Mengele plant manufacturing agricultural and construction machinery employed at one stage ten percent of the population of the town and this made a lot of money for the Mengele family. Nonetheless there is a lot more to the history of the town other than its most famous son. It boasts a market square with a clock tower more than 400 years old, some remains of the former Roman border installations and if one tries hard enough one can see where the city walls once were. The former Austrian barracks still stand and the town has clear Habsburg influence. See more in the video!

My history channel is based on my own research and generally comes from places I have visited and or original research. I live in a motorhome and as such spend most of my time travelling between Poland, Germany and Italy which is why there is a tendency to produce material from these countries, and sometimes material that is not available in English. My speciality is in World War Two, and in particular, the Holocaust although as you can see, I have opinions on a lot of other historical subjects too.
