Youth Music Coaching and Creation: TDSB Music Project | HEARt* Radio Mixtape Project Pt. 2

The HEARt* Radio Mixtape Project Pt. 2 was derived from a larger project, called 'Dear Mama' as a part of a TDSB partnership with Shakkoi Hibbert & One Mic Educators.

The goal was to select a group of youth to create and record music around themes of healing, as a way of unearthing our inner wounds in a safe space -using our gifts as our medicine to ourselves, to grow.

ABOUT AALEEM
On a journey to empower himself to empower others; alternative hip-hop artist and songwriter Aaleem Rasheed Mohammed is a prolific and engaged musician and community animator.

His style is comparable to a deep conversation between the RHCP/RATM', Tupac and Melody Gardot, with Jack White acoustics butterflying in the background, and vocals infused with the speed and tenacity of Lupe Fiasco.

He is passionately devoted to making music that enlightens, is conscious and rebellious and steeped in themes of social justice, while remaining rooted in personal, authentic storytelling as a reflection of soul and spirit.
