Why Nobody Lives On The West Coast Of Ireland

In this video we explore why Ireland's west coast, despite its stunning landscapes and rich history, remains sparsely populated. Factors include harsh weather conditions, geographical challenges like rugged cliffs and mountains, and a history of events like the Great Famine that drove people away. The east coast's proximity to England, better infrastructure, and more fertile land made it more appealing for settlement and development. Additionally, while the west coast has a strong fishing and tourism industry, these do not support large, permanent populations.
