The Cleveland-based Mitchell's Ice Cream has issued a voluntary recall for an undeclared allergen in its Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup ice cream.

According to Mitchell Brothers Ice Cream officials, up to 172 pints of chocolate peanut butter cup ice cream may contain peanut butter chocolate pretzel yogurt instead, which contains wheat.

"Please be assured that this flavor is perfectly safe to consume for those who are not affected by a wheat allergy. We sincerely apologize for this mistake," said Mitchell's Ice Cream officials in a media release.
