What would you say if I told you that everything you thought you knew about musical genres was wrong? Well, don't worry, that's probably not the case, but there's a good chance you're not thinking about them as deeply as you should be, and that's a bit of a problem. Basically, I think the way we conceive of and talk about genres is fundamentally flawed, and I think there's a much better way that we could be using if we just viewed them a bit more complexly, so here I am making that case. Feel free to yell at me in the comments for it. (Please don't actually yell at me?)
