In February 2020, in partnership and collaboration with the women and Elders from the Woodland Cree in Stanley Mission, Sk, we created the 1st Annual Girls Rock Camp: Rock The Mission.

Together we incorporated teachings, traditional knowledge, skills building, gender awareness, inclusion, self-empowerment and of course, lots of ROCK N' ROLL. There was mentorship between Elders, women and youth throughout the 5-Day camp. Songs were written about the 6 different seasons, and performed by 6 bands: Women & Elders, Teens & 4 Youth Bands. A performance and feast was held in the community at the Elementary School on the last day of camp.

ROCK THE MISSION had 11 instructors, 3 Elders, 20 youth, 6 young adults and 5 women whose lives are forever changed and bonded together through this adventure 🎶❤️
