The Goodtime hotel is a collaboration between Pharrel Williams and David Grutman, who is also owner and partner in several Miami based restaurants and nightclubs, including LIV night club at the Fountainbleau Miami Beach hotel. The idea behind this hotel is “collection of experiences linked by a commitment to create emotional good”.
The hotel was designed by Ken Fulk and was inspired by the classic Miami beach art deco era with a touch of the style from old world Havana club and Beverly Hills with a palette of pale mint, coral, and white and hints of leopard print.
The hotel has seven stories and 266 rooms, with one luxurious specialty suite available. The rooms currently range between $180 to $200 for a standard queen and around $300 for a king.
The third floor is where guests can come together.
There is a Cafe that is open daily 8am to 4pm where you can order coffee and pastries. There is also gym that is open daily from 7am to 10pm and although it is pretty small it offers pelaton bikes and the "mybeast" immersive training. They offer yoga Friday through Sunday at 9:30am. They have a library area that is one of the coolest looking spots in the hotel and it’s an area where guests can have a more quiet place to work on their laptops or just hang out with a coffee.
There is the restaurant Strawberry Moon which is named after the full moon that occurs closest to the summer solstice. The food is a variety of Mediterranean classics and is open for lunch during the weekends and daily for dinner (but you do have to make a reservation.)
The pool at strawberry moon is open daily from sunrise to sunset and the pool is transformed into a high energy day club with top celebrity DJs performing poolside. Some of the DJS that have performed so far include David Guetta, Marshmello, and Steve Aoki .
These events usually cost $40 for females and $60 for males but it can vary in price and things can get pricey here so it’s good to be aware. The drinks are around $17 which is pretty standard in Miami beach but If you want to rent a day bed it is $400 and it’s a $1000 to rent a private cabana.
The hotel also offers an exclusive beach area at 7th street after you cross ocean drive.
This hotel is a very cool concept but some things to note from looking at reviews online from customers are that the bedrooms are very small, the bathroom doors are clear (which doesn’t offer much privacy) and hotel guests can enjoy the pool area for free before there is an event going on but once the pool party starts you have to pay the event fee, even if you are staying at the hotel as a guest. Good to know beforehand and be aware because i can see how it can be confusing when you leave your room to go hang out at the pool and have to pay an extra fee.
