Shure SM57 vs Sennheiser E609 | The Ultimate Instrument Microphone Shootout!

You can not even argue that the SM57 is by far the most popular instrument microphone ever created. Eddie Van Halen used just ONE to record the entire VH1 album. No arguing that is is capable recording great quality from just about anyones cab. However, in the recent year the Sennheiser E609 is becoming a close competitor for it.

In this video I take both microphones and shoot them out against each other through a distorted and also clean amp. People like to argue that they sound the same, however I found quite the opposite. What mic do you prefer? Ol' reliable, or the new guy in town? Argue about it down below!
