Attackers exploited vulnerabilities CVE-2020-5639 and CVE-2021-20655 to execute code on Soliton’s file-sharing appliance called FileZen. This allowed them to access files and execute arbitrary code.
The Japanese Prime Minister’s Cabinet Office confirmed that they were compromised by these attackers, but did not disclose which kind of data was accessed.

Soliton patched the last vulnerabilities in February 2021. Customers should update to version 4.2.8 or 5.0.3
