Holborn - fixing London's Dangerous Junctions | Katy Rodda

Roadworks have finally started to significantly improve cycling safety at Holborn, where London Cycling Campaign have pushed for change for over a decade.

Katy Rodda from the London Cycling Campaign gives a tour of the changes. The new design will include a fully protected cycle lane north to south along Proctor Street, timed traffic light phrases to give people a clear "time period" to cycle through completely separate from lorries, cars and buses, and new cycle holding spaces and protected filter lanes on the entries to the junction.

This work will completely transform Holborn, where we've protested twice in the past two years after Dr Marta Krawiec and Shatha Ali were killed. In 2022 we won changes around the Southampton Row part of Holborn where Marta was killed. Now this set of changes, due for completion in mid-2024, tackles the south side where Shatha was killed.
