We love ferns at JLBG and have collected hundreds of species over the years. Ferns are one of the most diverse and versatile plant groups in the garden. They provide backdrop for seasonal flowers, form textural groundcovers, add architectural statements and splashes of color in both shade and sun gardens. Follow our taxonomist Zac Hill as he showcases some of our favorite species, tells plant collection stories, and gives out tips on how to grow different varieties in your garden.
