Return to Forever was one of the greatest Jazz Fusion bands of all time. The band started in 1972 with their classic self Titled album Return to Forever. The band was fronted by Modern Jazz Pianist Chick Corea. The first two albums focused more on traditional forms of Modern/Latin Jazz styles of music. These albums are classics in their own right, but it wasn't until 1973's Hymn of the Seventh Galaxy that the group turbo charged themselves into the Jazz Rock echelon to be the first real competitors alongside John McLaughlins' Mahavishnu Orchestra. This is also the only album to feature Legendary Fusion guitar player Bill Connors. I remember hearing this album for the first time when I was 12 years old. It was an insane experience that I will never forget. I would say this album is tied with Romantic Warrior as the band's greatest achievement.
