Ivy (Hedera helix)
Manual removal is the best way to control ivy. Pull it out by the roots, ensuring you remove the entire root system to prevent regrowth. Alternatively, regularly cut back ivy to ground level throughout the growing season to weaken it. A stump herbicide could then be applied.

Tradescantia (Tradescantia spp.)
Remove by hand pulling; this is the most effective method. Make sure to pull up the entire plant, including the roots. Smothering by covering the area with cardboard or black plastic to block light and suffocate the plants. They are also used as houseplants, although lots of retail establishments have banned their sale due to their invasive nature.

Blackberries (Rubus fruticosus)
Regularly cut back the canes, ideally before they fruit, to weaken the plant. Dig out roots when the plant is not actively growing. Make sure to get as much of the root system as possible. Berries are edible; plants can attract wildlife if you're happy to have blackberries take over your garden.

Deadly Nightshade/Black Nightshade (Atropa belladonna/Solanum nigrum)
Wear gloves and remove the plants by pulling them out at the root. Be cautious, as all parts of deadly nightshade & most parts of black nightshade are toxic. Alternatively, chopping down and using a stump herbicide to kill off roots. Disposal: Do not compost the plants; dispose of them in a sealed bag in the rubbish bin, especially Deadly Nightshade with the purple flowers.
