What type of rope/cord works best for macrame?
Every macrame beginner asks this question and there are many answers:
what kind of project, what price, soft or stiff, indoor outdoor, cotton or synthetic, you name it.
So I decided not to tell you (there are many articles analyzing the different types of macrame cord) but to show you.
I made the same knots (a square and double half hitch knots) using 6 different types of macrame cord.
Hopefully this video will help you make your own decision:)

My preferred type of cord is sash:
Woven cord (braided or sash cord) 4 or 5mm (the third from the left).
It feels a little stiff but it's durable, structured and holds shaping.
Difficult to comb but if you are patient the fringe is strong and durable.
