Dampier Archipelago Fishing | Catch and Clean

After sitting out the entire month of December from fishing due to the high and volatile winds that had been persisting in the Pilbara. We'd had enough of waiting, and although the first day of 2024 wasn't forecast to be any better, we didn't want to start the new year in any other way.

The boat was dragged out from beneath the carport, the pindan dust of the Pilbara vacuumed and hosed off, and after a few pre start checks and a bit of anticipation, we were back on the water.

With intentions to send it far and wide if the weather allowed, we'd loaded the boat with all the right fishing gear, and as always, the spearfishing gear for just in case.. and it was needed.

Faced with 22 knot winds and rough seas, we had to hide away within the Dampier Archipelago, unable to break the outer boundaries, and with not much to report on the fishing side of things. It was to our surprise that the visibility within the water was fairly good, and so with that, we donned on the dive gear, and in we hopped to secure a tasty bag.
