The brilliant Bernina matic 810 is about all you would ever need in a basic sewing machine.

I run through the basics such as bobbin winding/insertion, needle insertion, threading, tension, sewing, zig zagging, button hole sewing, darning/free motion sewing, basic maintenance and more.

This machine is Swiss made and of utmost build quality. Parts are still available, not that much goes wrong with them if looked after. Fast, smooth and reliable - this retro little workhorse can do most sewing tasks. Many attachments are available even today.
